Not sure about the first question. I think they are what ever the manufaturer offers. The Chevy's run Chevy engines. The Toyotas run Toyota and so on. But not 100% sure.

The only thing different is the emblems. So EC parts will work.

And think they are the same as a Chevelle/Malibu from the front doors forward. I believe they were nothing more than cut down wagons. ...
