ELCaminoGuy2,

What is the widest tire you can run on a 6 x 14 Rally? I like the 215 x 70's for the front.

Hello All -

I am wondering what sizes the 78-82 Rally rims came in? I have 4 rims now and they are all (3) different sizes. They range from 6 x 14, 7 x 14 and 8 x 14. Do I have the "spectrum"?

Thanks Tom,

I ment the 4L60-E / 4L65-E. These were produced in 1991-2 for rear-wheel drive cars (medium duty). I like the gear ratios on the 200-R4. They are tighter that a 700. I think the 700 ha ...

Hello All -

What is the best OD swap for the Elco? I have read that the 700R4 is popular...what about the OG4E (?) used in the later Tahoes and Suburbans?

Josh,

If it's a 4-link setup it will be close. Being that's out of a '69 could be tricky. Anythings possible...take it to trans shop and ask them. I do know the GN rear is a bolt-in swap. Also, yo ...

Blake,

I would junk that 7.5 ring and find a GN Rear w/ 3.42:1 - 8.5 ring gear. I blew my stock rear up after I dropped the sbc400 in. What a way to go...I went with the Auburn carrier as well. Ha ...

I pulled a SB400 out of a '73 Caprice in '94. Ran it for awhile as a two-barrel stock for a year. Tore it down, had it punched .030 over, added Dart heads w/ 2.02 valves and screw-in studs. Cam is jus ...
