Hi Guys,
I've bought my ElCamino in Mexico.
VIN Number 136808K139579
Engine Number T0825CMJ
Sameone can tell me what type of engine is this?
Which is the number that I would have to be? (example)
Thank You
Regards
Fabrizio

Taking a huge risk buying a car in Mexico, isn't that where many stolen US vehicles end up?

The CMJ suffix code was used several times. I will list all the uses

T0825CMJ
T - Tonawanda NY Engine Plant Produced
08 - Month of August
25 - day of the month
CMJ - 1975 Chevelle, Impala 350-165 hp L48 engine 2-bbl carb
CMJ - 1980 Impala 305-155 hp LG4 4-bbl carb
CMJ - 1991 Cadillac 350-185 hp L05 TBI (yes, Chevy engines in Cadi's)

Is there another code on the same engine pad? This would identify the make, model, year and final assembly plant.

Thank You Mike,
excuse me for delayed time to reply...I was out for work (and for my bad English...I'm Italian)
I've bought this Elky after my cousin, that lives in Guadalajara, has checked all documention and origin.
Car need few hours of restoration work and the engine seem (thank you for your specifications) not original...I'll buy one complete new from USA next year (with more horsepower!!!).
Do you know also where I can find also original tires specifications? I need original document that report 1968 Elky with 15" wheel...
Regards
Fabrizio

Take a look at this link, some basic info

I don know that 15 inch wheels were not offered in 1968. First year they offered 15 inch wheels was in 1971. Only 14 inch back then

1968 Chevrolet General Specs

BTW - Italian ancestry here, Grandfather on Dad's side came over to US CIRCA 1900 as young orphan child but from where I don't know (mystery, all on my Dads side gone).

...now it's explained why you are so kind and cordial...

(I'm joking)...I've been in USA two times and I've apreciated a lot your country and american people and above all 70s muscle car!!!...

Thank you for the link but I must find (if exist) an official document that attests that, no in standard, but in optionals list you could choose 15" wheels (standard on 1968 SS version... I belive).

You won't find any such document. The SS396 came with F70x14 inch tires ONLY. No 15 inches tires. Sorry.
