You know those never came stock in a "G" body right? It would have to be aftermarket.

Although that's true, it doesn't mean it has to be aftermarket. An older style 12 bolt rear out of a 3rd gen or a 68 thru 72 Chevelle/Monte will bolt in using the right aftermarket control arms and with the correct wheel offset...although consider yourself lucky if you find one that someones willing to let go of...especially cheap! Don't ask me about the offset...(don't know don't care)...I have a 9" Ford that's 53 1/2 " wide end to end.

i would take a good 10 bolt too If its already set up the right way .. any 10 bolt or 12 bolt thats setup right would be fine . thanks for your input .

A 10 bolt is fine, it's comparable in strength to a GN 8.5...it'll work just fine as long as your not going completely nuts with horsepower.

That's pretty nutty...Ford 9" or a 12 bolt Chevy would be better.

wow sure glad I grabbed that posi of a 5th gen. I thought I got a deal since it was just gone through rim to rim. Its in the yard somewhere but since im headed to El Paso for a year this weekend I got no time to look Sorry. But thanks for the wealth of knowledge.
