I have a 1987 Elco and i am preparing it for paint. I have some rust under the driver side quarter window. My question is if anyone has had experience with the installation/removal of the quarter window? I have a manual for my car but it doesn't include a section on the interior.....Thanks for any advice or additional info
I pulled off all the plastic interior panels on mine and it seems to be pretty easy to remove the window, just remove a couple of bolts.. I'll grab pics of mine if you like..

I think i can manage after i take out my plastic panels. I was just curious if there was any major procedures needed take it out. Thanks for the info Swollin....
bene here done this on the 85 i stripped the car out totally to repaint it
you take them out form the insidestart with the sail panel moldings
youll then see small screws that hold metal brackets in place that keep the glass pushed to the triangle frame opening
remove them
push the glass from the outside of the car into the car
done
they are glued in palce with black urethane same as windshield setting urethane in a tube from the glass shop
putting them in is simple too
scrape old urethane off the glass and frame opening
put nw urethane around it and push them in and put the clamps and screws back
done
with the glasses removed you can now replace the seals at the bottom of them
they are held in place with two phillips screws from the inside side
buy them new for a good price nowadays
and they fit nice and look VERY good shiny chrome and perfect
good luck _________________ randy the vehicle-aholic in lincoln il
