I just don't get it!!!

Once again I've been informed post notification emails to me are boucing causing problems for the site!!! Shocked

The first time this happened my account was blocked and I couldn't access the forums till after a lengthy series of emails after which I turned off the email notification which, till now, solved the problem.

Apparently, even though ECC is in my allowed sender address book, my Earthlink spamblocker still sees emails from ECC as spam anyway!!! Evil or Very Mad

So, my apologies for the problems I seem to have inadverrtently caused! Embarassed

If I can't get the issue resolved with earthlink I may not be posting here anymore, but I'm kinda at a loss as to what else to do. Mad

OK, after a live chat with earthlink support absolutely nothing has been resolved!

forums@elcaminocentral.com is in my allowed senders address book so I should be getting the emails and they should not be bouncing.

At thier request please tell me the exact wording of the bounced email notice so I can relay that info in hopes of finding a solution.

THANKS!!!

Are you runing any type of virus blocker or a firewall? You might want to Restore your computer back to a date prior to this happening to see if that gets rid of the problem. A lot of sites sneak stuff in when you download their programs...it allows them to watch what your looking at.

Yes, but I've not changed any settings. I use Earthlinks "spamblocker" as my email client, I'm afraid that's where the problem is. It's returning the ECC emails as spam without me even knowing it, even though ECC forums are in my allowed senders list!!!

I turned off email notification in my profile here and stopped the problem till now. Rob sent me an email telling me the problem started again. I haven't changed my preferences in my profile but for some reason the site has started sending me topic notifications again, not my doing!!!

When I clicked on this it bought me to Microsoft Office 2003 Activation Wizard and asked if I wanted to download the full program. Are you not using an Eartlink email address directly from Earthlink? I have Earthlink and have not had any problems.

I don't get it!!!

When I click on it I get an email pop up to email ECC!!!

But to answer your question, yes, I got it directly from earthlink, they have been my ISP since day one!!! One reason I'm not going to turn my spamblocker off(which cures the boucing issue totally) is because having the same email address for so long naturally makes me subject to tons of spam daily, AND, for that same reason, many legitimate contacts have my email address and I am very reluctant to change it. AND, niether do I want to resort to getting a hotmail/yahoo/etc email account.

This is the only froum I have ever had any issues with!!!

There's got to be a way to fix this!

Well, eathlink support was totally useless!!! Evil or Very Mad

I opened an email account with Yahoo and changed my profile appropriately. Topic notifications should go there now so that takes earthlink out of the equation.

Thanks for the help guys!!! I hope the change ends the problem!!! If any more returned emails show up let me know!!!
