nm theycalled me back and said they didnt have it so i got a 78 one _________________ im 16 and got a beutiful elcamino 4 my b-day and almost had a heartattack
Same thing happened to me. I was told they would send a packet for my 70 but what came was for a 74. So, I called the good people at GM and they promptly forwarded a similar set for a 71 that is still a lot more information than I know what to do with.
In the end there is a resto packet for a 74 camino in my basement that’s never been used if anyone is interested.

I called the number a coupla weeks ago and am still awaiting the arrival.
Hopefully the geniuses in the mail delivery will actually put the package in the correct mail box AND at the correct addy as they seem a wee bit confused most times with addy comprehension.
We'll see what we shall see when we are able to see it.
Update:
Apparently the folk at G. M. did not fully comprehend me when I told 'em my address as they called yesterday (4-12) to reconfirm my location.
I reconfirmed it and it'll be another 6 to 8 weeks before either i see the package or i call them to discover what else might be wrong.
They did give me a case number this time, for future reference I suppose. _________________ If "common" sense is, why isn't it!?

I ordered one for my dad about 2 weeks ago and they told me it would be 4-6 weeks, but he actually got it last Tuesday. Hes not restoring his Elco, but it definitely has some good info about the car. He said that it was all photocopied stuff though, and some of it was hard to read. Cant say anything bad though, it was free. I think he is sad to find out that his 350 only had 160hp from the factory _________________
I am glad someone brought this thread back up to the top, I hadn't seen it.
I think I might be disappointed when I ring by the sounds of it, if they won't ship to Canada I expect them to say no way to me here in OZ
Look like I might have to impose on one of my US mates.
John! Did you call yet to see if they would ship to you? If not you could have it shipped here and I could foreward it to you! Let me know and if need be I will PM my mailing address to you and you could have it sent here in care of me. _________________ "Still Just Truck'in"

Papa Johns, thanks so much for the kind offer. No I haven't tried calling yet. I am travelling on business at the moment I will give them a call next week when I am back at home base.
You guys in the US are so hospitable. I really appreciate it. _________________ John (from Down Under)

Well today I tried. I was on the phone to GM US for about 20 minutes (International dialing rates) and it all sounded very promising, then, "sorry we cannot help you as we don't deal with customers outside the US. You need to call GM in your own country, here is the number". I say "I am quite sure they will not be able to help me as the El Camino was never sold in Australia", they say, "that is no problem as they can get it for you". What a load of crap, GM (Holden) said no way, we cannot get that for you.
PaPa Johns, looks like I will take you up on your generous offer. I will drop you a PM. _________________ John (from Down Under)

It's on the way to me and I'll send it to the Land Down Under as soon as I get it!
PaPa John, thanks a million mate. I'll return the favour the best way I can think. I'll send you some famous Aussie "Tim Tams". You know what they are? _________________ John (from Down Under)

I remember the little Aussie therapist I had after my back surgery talking about them. If I remember it is some sort of a chocolate cvered bisquit with a creme center. Is that right? _________________ "Still Just Truck'in"

Yep, that is right. Hope you are not diabetic?
They make them a few different favours now, like Tia Maria, which has got some people to complain as they reckon it is introducing alcohol favour to children. I believe some people even make a whole through the middle (longwise) and suck their coffee through one. _________________ John (from Down Under)
