I've got a set of Lakewood no-hop traction bars for sale if you're interested. I'm in the L.A. area.

Traction bars are typicaly used on leaf spring rear suspension to prevent the spring from twisting. With coils, some use a ladder bar setup that works in much the same way. The no hop bars that K5 mentioned are what I have on my car and work great for traction issues by changing the instant center of the rear end. Trust me they work great. Your friends will have to lay on the ground to see them though. I suggest you take K5 up on the offer.

Let me know if you're interested. If you're in SoCal we could meet up somewhere, otherwise USPS priority shipping would run around $9. The following is information on the no-hop bars, and also a picture of the actual ones I have for sale.

Lakewood no-hop bars. I bought them from Jeg's originally. Take a look at the following link to the same part in Jeg's catalog. These only have about 2000 miles on them, and I've listed them $100 less than what they cost new from Jeg's which is $169.99. Keep in mind these fit 64-72 A body (El Camino, Skylark, Chevelle, Cutlass, 442, Grand Prix, GTO, Lemans, Malibu, Monte Carlo). $70 plus shipping and they're yours.
