Does anyone know if in California that Assembly bill 462 was put into affect? The bill is that 1969 and older cars and 1972 and older trucks can renew there autos with there old plates? I have a 1966 El Camino and I let the registration laps by 20 years and now I want to bring it current with my old plates. _________________ 1966 El Camino work in progress

I don't know anything about the bill your talking about but I know people buy black plates from swap meets and get their cars registered with them. _________________ '82 El Camino with an LT1 from a 95 Impala SS
I found this web sight that said you had to use new plates.
Anyway I have a 1966 ElCamino and I want to regester it with the CA black and gold plates. Is this possible? _________________ 1966 El Camino work in progress

I saw that in Indiana you can get "new antique" plates for your car or truck. You can special order plates from the year of manufacture of your vehicle.

The problem is, Indiana plates are ugly.
My favorite plate is still the Michigan 1976 plate. Too bad I don't live in Michigan any more and my truck is not from '76. _________________ Old Chevys never die
