Hi all.
Still haven't found a flier on line, but I did get my hard copy flier in the mail today.
Ernie...
If I scan it and email it to you, will you post for me? What format is required?
In the mean time, some details-
Pre Registration must be received by RICOA by 15 June. Pre registration $7 for RICOA members, $8 Non Members. $10 on the day of the show.
2 Elky classes like last year. Stock (all) and Modified (all). "Stock" doesn't mean "Strickly Stock".
Car corral $10 per vehicle.
Dash plaques to the 1st 300 through the gates.
Diamond Hill Park is in Cumberland RI. To get there take exit 11 off of I-295. Take RI RT-114 North 4 miles and it's on the right.
Registration from 9AM to Noon. Judging from Noon to 1. Show's over about 3:30 or so.
Cruisin Bruse will be spinning the tunes.
See you all there. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

Hey everyone,
Cant wait to meet everybody and see all the crucks! Anyone know how this show is set up? Is parking by class? If not maybe we should organize a meet. I'm psyched, mine just came off the jack stands last Sunday!

Roger - is that you?
Glad to hear you are planning to make this show - not a bad ride from the Cape... yes parking is by class and all the crucks will be together - except mine --- they insist that I park on a pedestal.
I would be glad to meet you on your way by from the Cape - but you know that my 13" wheels can't (and wouldn't even try to) keep up with your 454. _________________ Tom

My name is Al. We parked next to each other at the Regional show in Sturbridge, and Garry was right behind us. I'll be coming down from the north, so I'll have to meet you there. In regards the speed on the 13's.... Maybe you could go faster if you werent cruisin low hitting the switches!!! See you there, I'll be the guy with the sunglasses on. Guarding my eyes from the reflecting sun off el bandido...

Sorry Al -- Your avatar - looks like Roger's car.
Sure I remember you from the Sturbridge show... hey guys - wait til you se Al's 72 --- if I remember correstly you had just finished it just before that Chevelle and el Camino show.
Sounds like we will have a great group in Cumberland - don't forget when you register to list National El Camino Owner's Assoc as your club - I think we have a shot at Best Club this year _________________ Tom

Hey Tom.
You spend this lovely weekend polishing chrome? I know Mark is doing just that. Doc said I should bring my welding goggles for when I look at both your cars.
Glad to hear you're coming. You better bring pics of that B.H.G. back yard.
Wouldn't miss this show for the world. As Regional Director of the group, can't you get them RICOA guys to let you join the rest of us? If you need a POC, I'll be glad top provide it. As a RICOA member, I'll even register a formal complaint if you'd like.
8 days to go.
Sounds like we're heading for a great turnout!
See you all there. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

Man, I love this show.
But I really don't want to fight the wet roads and mud to do it. Who's bringing the pressure washer this time?
Seriously, I sure hope the rain clears out earlier than later.
I'll be watching Sat. night's weather forecast and Sunday morning's radar screen like a hawk. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

OK, I'll be the first to chicken out. Here's the Yahoo forecast for Cumberland tomorrow:
Tomorrow: Scattered thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 84F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
A few showers is one thing but a severe t-storm is completely different. My Crown Vic was battered by the hail while parked at work last Tuesday during the severe t-storm and it has about 50 dimples in it. I'd rather not have that happen to my El Camino. OK, go ahead and call me a wuss.

Gee Ernie, sorry to hear that. Ouch. I don't blame you a bit though.
I'm still making plans to go, but won't make my final decision till 7:15. If I do go, I'll leave as early as I need to to avoid any chance of getting caught by the heavy stuff.
Anyone else planning to go? _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

Ernie, your a wuss !!!! You said to call you a wuss, just trying to be helpful buddy. Not to worry, I'm right there with you Ernie.
Still on the fence on this one, like Mike, it'll be a last minute decision. Damn weather. For me, this will be the 5th show I will have missed if it rains tomorrow. Every cruise night has been rained out but one down my way. This is nuts...
Without a doubt, this is the best show of the year, lets hope it works out.
Also, we can't have Mr. Nunn waltzing in by himself and taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, best int., best paint, best alternator, best hat. And on and on etc.....
PS- Ernie, sorry about the hail damage, man, that really sucks....

Sorry to say that I’m with Erie… Got the word from Cruisin' New England Magazine that the Elky was invited to there Mohegan Sun indoor show July 5&6. This event is limited to 60 cars held in the Uncas Grand Ballroom. Spent hours getting the car ready and just can’t take the chance of getting stuck in the rain and have to do it all over again. I have to be at the Sun Thursday @ 9am to set up. Sorry Guys there always the next show.
Good luck to all my Elky brothers…Take lots of pics!
