I was on cardomain and i saw, what seemed to be, an 80 somethin elcamino with a denim interior (including the dash). I was wondering if his dash was wrapped in fabric or just textured and painted. I was wondering if IT IS possible to actually wrap a dash in fabric.

several people seem to like tweed on everything. I can't stand fabric. carpet is nice, but I like vinyl and leather everywhere I can get away with.

But I believe you saw "tweed", and it must be a PITA to clean.

Denim would be a hard material to cover a dash with because there is little or no streatch to it. Tweed might be a little better but would still not be my first choice. It would be possible however but would take a pretty patient upholsterer to do. There would be a lot of fitting and sewing to make it lay down right without puckering and wrinkling.
