Last time I cranked my car was about three months ago. I went to crank it today and it wouldn't do anything. New battery put in today. New battery cables put in today (converted to top post). I can't even get the lights to come on with the new battery. Anyone got any ideas on where to start looking for the problem??? I'd appreciate any help right now. Thanks.

It could be the fusible link. The positive cable from the battery goes to the starter motor and there is usually a copper link from where that bolts on to another bolt. If you have a sizable short it will take out this link.

I recommend you start checking around with a voltage tester or multimeter to see if there is voltage anywhere on the vehicle. If you find it is the fusible link you have to chase where the short is, which could be a challenge depending on your electrical & wiring circuit knowledge.

Good luck with it.

Just to bring back an old chesnut. GROUNDS!! Check the ground from the battery to the frame.

Also, make sure you did not hook up the battery backwards. Easy to do when changing battery type. (guilty)
