I have condensation leaking on my carpet. It appears to be coming from one side of the evaporator box under the dash. The outside drain hole is clear and apprears to drain properly. How do I get inside the box in order to do a proper seal. Can this be done under the hood ? Thanks in advance for any help Sad Sad

Yes, the ac box can be opened under the hood.

Remove hood-cowl seal. Remove wiper arms. Remove lower cowl trim, loosen windshield side trim if necessary. Remove intake screen.

Remove blower motor and high speed relay. Now you can remove all the 7 or 8 MM screws around the top of the box. Be sure to check down inside the air inlet, there are a couple hard to see screws. Then you can just lift the lid off and see the evaporator, heater, and all the drains.

When you put it back together, you will need to replace the strip caulk that seals the box, and you will need to silicone the seal against the firewall. Hopefully that will get your leak fixed. Though, even if it is not the cause of your leak, after 25 years it's time to clean all that out.
