Hey boys,

Great resource this site.

My 86 EC's driver side power window isn't functioning. The passenger side works fine, but only with the passenger side switch, not from the driver side switch. Replacing the driver side with a new switch didn't resolve the problem, either. I had a look at these posts w/diagrams and links therein:

If it's a bad driver side motor, then wouldn't the new driver side switch still operate the passenger side window properly?

Aside: I had a bad driver side power doorlock switch. That stopped either doorlock switch from working. When I replaced it both became operational again. That's why I'm wondering if the window problem may be something other than a bad window motor.

Great article on power window motor replacement here, too, but trying to avoid if it's not necessary:

Hoping to roll both windows down for the summer. Smile

Have you checked for 12 volts between the pink wire on the driver side switch and ground? If you don't have 12 volts neither window will operate from that switch.
