So the idiot light that says "BRAKE" came on for basically no reason today. I don't know why it would have come on as nothing I've done lately has prompted it to. My ECM is not hooked up, I haven't messed with any connections under the dash, the light just came on by itself.
Just to single things out, I did check my brake fluid, it looked good. Then I realized that was really stupid because not a single wire is connected to my master cylinder. My brakes work just fine.
It comes on as soon as I start the car. When I use the parking brake the light becomes brighter. When I release it, it still stays lit. Please help me out, this is really bothering me.
Below the master cylinder, on the side of the frame is a distribution block for the brake lines. Unplug the tan wire from it and see if the light still glows. That wire and the one from the parking brake are tied together to turn the warning light on.
If it still glows you have lost a ground somewhere and it is back feeding through it which is what I suspect since you say it gets brighter when you put on the parking brake - which would give it full ground and make it get brighter. _________________ 84 Elky with 455 Buick, Tremec TKO600 5 speed, 8.5 3:42 posi -
