Well me and dad where talking and we are thinking that we will rebuild a 350 or 454(depending on what cash i got when i go to junkyard and order parts) Chevy V8 engine and im wonderning about a transmission. I talked to my uncle and he said a 700R4 with a Torque Converter Lock up kit and dad agreed but im wondering about the TH-350 or TH-400 transmissions. would u guys go with a 700R4 or a TH-350 or Th-400 transmissions?

Part of the answer depends on what HorsePower you're going to be shooting for. The Th400 can be built to handle just about anything you can throw at it (will cost $$$). The 700R has the advantage of Overdrive.

So what is the HP you're shooting for and what is the El going to be used for?
