Anyone know the stock compressed and extended measurement of rear shocks on a 1982. Lowered her 2" with Eibachs. Everything is new bushings etc and the wheels are tru and balanced. BUT, when I get up and over about 50mph the rear starts hoping like crazy. When I have the car up on stands I can move the springs freely with my hand. Im thinking maybe I need a shorter shock. Ideas or solutions greatly appreciated.

Where do you have the jackstands at when its jacked up? Are you using the frame or rear end as a mounting location? If its on the frame the rear end will hang down fully extended and your springs will be loose. If you have it mounted under the rear end and the weight of the car is loading the rear suspension, there should be nothing loose under there. I'm guessing you didn't have this problem before you swapped out springs? Did you do anything else besides change springs?

Stands are on frame. Not loose when compressed. Frame was narrowed to fit rims/tires but axles measured up and has new posi. Alignement is spot on. The springs should not move around by hand if extended, right?

Springs WILL move around when suspension is fully extended. Put the jackstands under the rear end so the suspension is loaded with car weight and check for anything loose.
