Hey all.
3rd annual Chev-El show at Sturbridge Village is 15 & 16th of August at the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center. Attendance has been growing every year as the word gets out.
This is "our show" and a chance to rub elbows with our sister models and no one else. Who knows, maybe we'll even get to see a real 1st gen elky instead of just reading about them.

Mike,
Thanks for posting the flier -
YES guys this is THE SHOW to go to - I am already registered and I hope you ALL will p;an to be there !
I have been raving about this show for three years now and with good reason. Like Mike said this is El Caminos and Chevelles ONLY so you know we will be in good company... and the people who put the show together ---------- they define the owrd HOSPITABLE !
Heidi and I have gone up on Friday night the last two years - the club puts on a nice "social" at the hotel the night before and waking up "at the show" on Saturday makes for a less hectic day - I have to admit that we have never stayed Saturday night for the dinner.
Last year - NECOA took the Best Club Trophy -- this year I know we can do it again.

Tempting me too, Leo.
Me too.
By then I should have my underhood detailing all done, the engine bearings replaced so I can make longer trips, and whooped up on MGS72Elky at least a few times by the time this show rolls around.
I'd love nothing more than to sneak a Massachussetts trophy away from "Mr. Majestic and the Caramel Camino" at a judged 1000 point car show. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

I love the way those two bicker - you would think they were brothers !
But as for you LEO -- please consider this a WRITTEN INVITATION...
Last year year there were two guys up from Region 1 (neither of them members !) I am sorry that you found out about this without a formal invitation to "cross the border".
This show also drew Chevelle people from as far away as Maryland and Virginia and even Canada - I cant say it LOUD ENOUGH --- this is a GREAT SHOW !
It is a fabulous opportunity for el Camino people to gather too - please Leo come and bring as many New Yorkers as you can - last time we discussed this show (two years ago when the Yankees were on top) I offered to buy you a coffee -- this time I'll buy you a real drink ! (Red Sox Nation is still celebrating)
We all would love to meet you and spend some quality time with some good people.
Hey Rich, You getting close now with that resto? How about the 'All Chevy' Show on the 29th of this month? Looking foward to checking it out... _________________ Mark

As hoped, one down, All-Chevy show, to go. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

Yes, I must tell the truth. Mark "inched" me out at the Chevy show, so I had crow for dinner Sunday night and humble pie for dessert. Good Job Mark!!
Tom, you've been here twice now. Regarding the judging at this Sturbridge show, do they let you keep the "rap sheet" at the end of the judging so you know what to work on when you get home? _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

It's a 1000 point scoring system and the guys who score your car take it point by point -- I have lost 25 points each year for "spare tire" (I don't have one)... and 25 points is like the most you can lose in any one area.
I am just glad the 1000 point system can't "dock" me for NO WINDSHIELD WIPERS ! !
To answer your question Mike - yes they give you your report card to take home - and your exactly right - it's your list of winter projects.
Glad you are planning to go this year - you know I think it is the best show of the year - only el Caminos and Chevelles ! --- Not to far from heaven. _________________ Tom

Well guys - it's one week until my daughters Wedding and two weeks until the Car Show of the year - The Northeast Chevelle and El Camino Show.
This show is for Chevelles and el Caminos only !
Last year we got the trophy for best club and I am sure we can do it again this year.
Last year there were people there from as far away as Maryland and Montreal - there was a fantastic collection of some of the nicest vehicles that Chevy ever made - el Camino and Chevelles.
The people who run this show are genuinely hospitable people and welcome all participants as though we are all long lost brothers.
I want to encourage you ALL to make this show - the show itself is on Saturday August 16 -- they will have a social at the Sturbridge Inn (where the show is) Hotel on Friday night and most people will come and stay over-night on Friday and party Friday night - many people will stay for the dinner on Saturday night - neither of these social events is necessary or required but if you want to have a good time with a bunch or like minded people - join us. I am sure you will enjoy yourself.
The Show on Saturday is a 1000 point judged competition and I have found the judges to be knowledgable and consistantly honest.
I am not "pushing" this show ------ I am pushing you all to come and have a good time.
You know, I'm tempted. Truck Carlisle is next weekend and I had plans on attending but something has come up that might prevent me from going, so at the moment it's up in the air. If I can't make it to Carlisle I might come to Sturbridge the following weekend. I'll make hotel reservations for Friday night, I can always cancel them if I don't come. _________________ Leo
