Hi everybody, I am new here and I am looking forward to getting to know the active members who enjoy their old El Caminos. I have question to help me enjoy mine without killing myself. I have a problem with my rear brakes locking up before the front. The truck has 1965 Buick Skylark GS suspension and brakes and I think that might be the problem. The rear shoes are 2.5 inches wide which is the same as a Vista Cruiser wagon and I think it might be too much stopping power for the rear. I recently put a dual reservoir master cylinder on the elky, from Inline Tube, but retained the non-power drum brakes all around. Anyone know off the top of your head what width is for stock 1965 El Camino rear brakes? I am about ready to return the master cylindar to stock in an attempt to resolve this issue as I got the truck sideways at 50+ mph the other day to avoid a deer.
Thanks in advance, Kurt _________________ BuCamino65
Another option would be a adjustable prop valve. You can dial in the front/rear bias. JEGS has them. And welcome abord Kurt. _________________ Jim
