I've never seen braided A/C lines before. Looks good.

Cool

Thanks---same stuff the street rod guys use---made by aeroquip-----all you do is cut the braided hose to fit and use the fittings that suit your needs....I wanted to get all the hoses off the top of the motor...

Thanks Robert!!!!! The braided are made by Aeroquip---bought them from Summit----you measure the hose --cut to lenth ---order the fittings for your configuration, and bolt it together-pressure test for leaks----- and its that easy----the aluminum tubing needed to be more than 100 inches---its all hidden in the front of the header panel, that's where the splices are --all welded together and pressure tested-----I wanted the engine to stand alone ---at least thats what I am attempting to do---with as few obstructions as possible--we need to install the wiring harness and a charcoal filter and its ready to start for the first time...at least since it came off the dyno...you really like the way we laid it out?

The layout looks great but I'm curious... did you consider running the lines behind the engine along the firewall and up to the compressor instead of all the way around the radiator? Wouldn't that have been shorter?

By the way, one of my customers is the Aeroquip distributor for LI so I can get hose at wholesale. If anyone needs Aeroquip hose just let me know the specifics (type, diameter, length) and I'll get a price.

Sure did Leo---but the issue became --how difficult would it be to work around if we needed to do repairs---alot going on back there---between the distributor---the brakes etc------and with my luck---it will need repairs---LOL

My compliments Sir. Very nice.

Thanks Leo for the offer. You may hear from me. Or, maybe Robert will pre-fab kits for 5th gens and sell me one! Smile Oh well, just a fantasy.

Question - the lines from the compressor to the fender well and front body look tight. Are they vulnerable to engine rock or is it just the picture angle?

Take care.

I know this thread is a little old, but was searching the site for some help on another topic and came across this and had to look.

I had a similar situation with my '79 El Camino, as I installed a Street & Performance serpentine system when I upgraded to a TPI system.

What I did was swap positions with the A/C compressor and alternator, so the A/C now sits on the passenger side. Then, I purchased a new condensor for an '87 Olds Cutlass (442), which is the same size, shape, etc, as the '79 condensor, except the outlets/inlets are on the passenger side of the Camino. This eliminated the need to run A/C hoses across the top or around the engine.

Not to disparage your solution, I really like the way it looks and the creativity utilized.
