the old ones were glued in to the channel and are rarely usable. they get torn up trying to get them out. You will probably have to buy new ones. May be you got window roller/adjustment problems since you say it is getting worse.
by the way - thanks for letting me bother you the other day. Hope they were to your liking. _________________ 84 Elky with 455 Buick, Tremec TKO600 5 speed, 8.5 3:42 posi -

Another 3 to 9 years should finish it.
The only real solution to your problem is to replace the molding, weather stripping.
A good brand is sofseal fits well and has a great warranty. When you get the roof rail molding which is what it is called don’t go crazy with the adhesive it fits in the channel and only requires adhesive in the corners and on the ends which will hold it very well.
Once the weather stripping is old and worn all the window adjustment in the world won’t fix the leaks. Harald K
Cyclone,
I bought mine from The ElCamino Store. I bought the aftermarket, not the factory $$$. It is made by Sofseal as previously mentioned. It looks good, and fit well. Since this is a long slow project, I noticed after a few months it started to separate (only a little) at the seams. The factory seals are all one piece and the aftermarket are pieced together. I used a little 3M weatherstrip cement and put it back (really wasn't bad, just didn't want it any worse) and it seems ok now. I did door hinge and striker and window adjustments and it's all good! Those are big heavy doors and when the hinge bushings go, they sag big time. So, a lot of factors to consider.
Good Luck! _________________ Larry 3 in Hot Springs, AR

Rubber seals, and any other rubber parts for that matter, will dry out over time. I use silicone spray every year to keep the seals looking and performing like new. You know the old saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Softseal is the brand I am putting in my 66 Caprice restoration. I've heard only good things about this brand. Good Luck with your ride, Rob _________________ BE HAPPY, BE HEALTHY
