I'm a new member in beautiful Prescott. I'm going to start replacing some of the bed trim so I'd like to find someone close who can give me the skinny on how to get the trim off without tearing stuff up. Maybe, if you're visiting Prescott, you could stop by my shop for show & tell.

You can see my '66 on page 7, OLD SCHOOL.

I took this bed trim off 10 years ago (car still isn't painted) so my memory is rusty here. But after pulling out the parts you can get a good idea of how it comes off.

key points:
1) to get the bed trim off above and around the sides of the rear window, you need to take the headliner out partially to get at the nuts holding it on:

2) remove the access panel in the side of the bed by the taillights to get at the nuts holding the rear corner pieces on. BE CAREFUL, the screw posts break off the trim piece very easily (all cast in one piece) and replacements aren't cheap.

3) The side bed rails pop off after the first two steps. See the clip on the bed rail in photo. There are about 8 of these on each side if I remember correctly.

4) Tailgate trim (no tailgate handy for photos) is bolted on too. remove the access panels in the tailgate to get to them. The tailgate trim has some weird clips with screw posts, so breaking them off isn't as big a deal.

I hope this helps. It would have saved me a lot of trouble when I did it originally. Main point on anything is to take your time and figure it out.
