oK, well why is it that so many people want to by my camino now? lol i drive mine daily, because my taurus needs a lot of work. well i think in the past 2 months, ive had at least 20 people ask if my cars for sale. The funny thing is when i tell them they can have it for $20,000 lol, then they ask if im serious and i tell them the only way ill sell it is for $20,000. Theres even an employee at the local walmart, i went into the electronics dept one day, and she came up to me "can i ask you a question?" "sure" then she asks if i was the one with the elcamino, she said if i ever wanted to sell it, to let her know. its wierd, because my camino isnt even in good shape right now, i mean the back end has like 4 differetn colors on it behind the wheels, and plenty of rust. i just think its interesting how many people want to buy it. _________________ "Ninja Kick The Damb Rabit" quote by Mikey from TMNT the movie!

Hey David -- Tell those folks they can buy a better El Camino than yours by checking our garage sales section or looking on Craigslist for local Elky that sell between $3500 to $7000. That way you keep your own ride, and we get new members to join up because you helped them get the kind of car they really wanted! See you at the next Region 2 gathering. _________________ View my El Camino

Back in 1981 when I was driving my dad's 73 el Camino a guy in a Cadillac waved me over on a county road and offered me $2000 for it on the spot. The truck was no show winner but it was clean and straight. I had to say no. He got up to $3500 and I had to tell him it was still in my dad's name and he will never sell. The guy drove away really pissed off.
The only explanation I ever got was he wanted the engine because it was a 4 bolt main 350, turbo 400 tranny and a limited slip rear end with a topper. But it was not an SS. _________________ Old Chevys never die

People want the older cars now because they're actually cheaper to keep on the road than a new car. They may get a few mpg less but if it means they can get rid of a 6 to 700 month car payment for a 15mpg SUV monster it's worth it. A whole lot of people's credit is shot too making it impossible to afford a new more fuel efficient car. They can come up with 2 or 3 grand but 15 to 20 just isn't going to happen. I heard a Mitsubishi dealer commerical the other day on the radio and I caught the "quick talk" at the end of it (think fine print) that said minimum credit score of 740. The average in the US is around 570. I can't imagine begging for financing for a Mitusbishi anything...

Yeah I hear you there man.
My neighbor has been making offers since I pulled up in the driveway with my 81. It's pretty damn rough, and he capped his offer at 6500, even though he knows I only paid 1900.
I wont part with mine though. Love it WAY too much.
