All the best with the surgery Johnny. My mother had both her hips replaced and she is doing very well for mobility, and is glad she had em done. I would say she probably has a decade and a half on you too.

I have to have a knee done, but am putting it off with hopes these injections of Supartz will work. Doc tells me its like squirting oil under the knee cap. Just gotta change it out in a couple years, it's been interesting, but is working well.

Keep us posted on the progress.

look at it this way it could have been another or new WIFE.

Good luck and today the surgery is way better and you will be in good shape soon.

Be sure to get the one with a Zerk fitting. It can be tough trying to lube the ones without. Laugh
Good luck, a guy I know just had this done and was back at work in a week, I was shocked. Shocked
Good luck with your new parts,
Mike

Bad part is I will have to have the other hip done in the next 1 to 2 years. They woun't do the left one as they say it isn't quite bad enough! Go figure. Smile
I know until all the muscles heal a person is at risk of dislocating the new hip. There are restrictions up the yazoo one of which I will have trouble with. That's sleeping on my back! After about an hour by back will hurt so bad I have to get up and walk around. I sleep on my side curled up in a ball. The only almost painfree way I can. Of course the last three months the hip pain is so bad I wake up every time I do so much as move.

Now today I get a letter telling me the Goverment is going to deduct 15% of my Disability check to repay some old student loans (were my daughters) that I signed on. They were supposed to be forgiven since I became disabled but since Bush seen fit ti sign a bill that allows the lenders to go after SS checks and allow the lenders to charge late fees and allows the lender to make the decision wether or not your disability meets their standards. No one seems to have them forgiven anymore. Sad

Heres a follow up. I had my doctors appointment. It took all I had to make myself go, I hate hospitals. (live at one for a year and a half once and see)
Well what does doc say? "Your fat" Confused I say "and". He wants me to wait and lose some weight and see what happens!!! I was expecting to be sent to a surgeon! I want this done now!!! I'm the one with the pain, not him!!! Evil or Very Mad
I guess it is time to find a new family doctor. Ours is on this "fat kick" lately and is on all of his patients! I guess he doesn't look in the mirror at himself! Laugh
Anyone know if Medicre requires a referral from your primary to see a specialist?

PaPa John,
I want to wish you the best of luck. I had both hips replaced, not at the same time. I had no choice but to have the surgeries. I am not all that happy with the results. I am not a poster boy for hip replacements. My job doesn't help either, as I operate backhoes and loaders, so I'm always bouncing around. Thank GOD for percocets. I hope your surgery is more successful than mine. Good luck, I'll keep you in my prayers. May the good lord shine a light on you.

I also want to wish you good luck. I just had my colon removed in may, and have had many complications ever since. I know what you mean with hospitals, been admitted 5 times this year and 4 times last year. My best advice would be to research the surgery and know what youll be going through, that was my biggest mistake.

Johnny, I hadn't realised it had been so many days since I last logged in so I apologise for not chiming in with my best wishes for you mate.

I am going through a health issue myself at the moment and when discovered my doctor actually apologised that he did not read the signs earlier and have the right checks done a long time ago. Bloody Quacks Mad Go see what another doctor has to say and has more empathy for what you are suffering.

Good luck with it mate.
