The 305 is no powerhouse but it reliable and can get decent mileage. It is likely the engine that the Elky came with. So to answer your question yes that is a good combination. You will not win any drag races.
I have my original 305 and a 2004-R but I have a 308 rear. That keeps the RPMs down on highway trips. _________________ 1986 El Camino

its' all stock with a preformence coil & k&n filter ,nothing special ,but pass's smog here in cali. i just got it . im going to but 20 inch rocks sometime its got 15'' eagle alloys now _________________ ''EAST-LB-MINO''
