I would like to install a gauge package in my 80 ss but here is my question.
The original 305 is gone and it now has a target master. The oil sending unit that runs to the factory dash gauge is screwed in on the left/drivers side of the vehicle just above the oil filter. Is there another location I could use to hook up a second gauge for oil pressure?
Next question pertains to the water temp. Again, the factory gauge is run to where it is usually, below the headers between spark plug 1 and 3. Is there another spot to plug in a temp. sender?

Thanks
Darrin

There's an oil port on the rear of the block to the left of the distributor. It's 1/8 npt. You'll probably need a four or eight point socket to get it out without rounding it off.You can also use a brass tee fitting with a nipple at the port above the oil filter. It's 1/4 npt IIRC.

Depending on the type of intake manifold you have, there may be an unused port. If not, you can remove the plug from the other head.

thanks hel98
I found the 1/8 port, thats perfect. I couldn't use a T though because the factory is an electronic sender and I will be using a mechanical. Ill look for the other plug on the opposite side of the motor for the temp.
That's a nice ride you have too.
If you dont mind I'de like to PM you with some questions.
