hi, some clown used silicone on the facing of the moulding on the roof (probaly had a cap at one time) and i want it off. it wont peel off and i dont want to scratch the moulding .what do you guys reccomend? thanks carl

Most of these products say on the container something like "once cured, can only be removed with a tool".
I suggest trying some different solvents to see if you can soften the material, starting with WD40, then say Citrus Oil, Goo Gone, Turps, Methylated Spirits and then Thinners. You could also try a heat gun or Hair Dryer. _________________ John (from Down Under)
Hard silicone is a pain in the but to get of anything. Especially if whoever put on there done it right and cleaned the surface real good before applying the silicone.
Are you sure it would'nt be easier to buy new mouldings.

Well mine had the silicone on my trim as well. After literaly hours of trying everything.... I came to the conclusion that it just won't come off. I got most of it off but not all. I'll have to buy some new trim, once I save my pennies. _________________ 1984 El Camino
