At the moment there are two official 50th Anniversary celebration locations, Carlisle, PA and Bakersfield, CA. There is a strong possibility of a third in Florida.
I'd like to see one somewhere in the midwest such as St. Louis or Chicago. Is there anyone here willing to take the reigns on this to set a date? All you need to do is set up a tent or table at a big show, fly the banner, and welcome the Elkys!
Actually if anyone in any region wants to help spread the celebration let me know. As I said above, it doesn't take much to do it, an EZ-UP or table, our 50th banner and advertise for Elky's to come. There is a possibility we'll have items for goody bags you can give out also, I'm working on some nice dash plaques for anyone who participates.
Also, as long as the show is after Carlisle your event will be mentioned in the Carlisle official catalog in an article on the 50th Anniversary. You'll have good publicity.
Anyone doing this please let me know as soon as you have a date, the sooner the better. Your best bet is to simply be part of some big show in your area.
Of course the green emblem you see below will also change to reflect your dates. _________________ Leo

What is the heads up on Florida so I can get with the idea man behind this , I already have the banner and have been on many show commitees and would probably be of some help (maybe?)
I still have Carlisle on the board but two celebrations is better than one! _________________ "69" SS 396/350 HP with a stock outside, stock underside, stock inside and a splash of chrome and polish in the engine area.

For FL you can contact Ken (MC87SS) he's possibly working something out with the Monte Carlo group. There isn't any date set yet. _________________ Leo

I remember the days living in Palmdale CA. I would always past Bakersfield CA to go to Vegas and seeing the big thermometer
