Ok, I have a new edelbrock carburetor to install and the old one is a rockchester I believe. I see on the PCV hose that it attaches to a Vacuum Tee where one hose goes to the carburetor and the other side goes somewhere I have no idea. The one I am unsure about has a smaller hose and valve on the Tee. What is it? Do I need it on the new carburetor?

Well since most of the performers are copies of the old Carter AFB the same rules should apply for vacuum passages. I used to hook up a 3/8 inch line to the PCV port on the front and hooked it straight to my pcv valve in my valve cover.

If you can somehow get a pic of the general area it'd be helpful. Since the port is located on the throttle plate of the carb it's going to be constant vacum otherwise known as manifold vacuum. So anything
connected inline to the PCV will need constant vacuum too.
Most of the vacuum operated valves I've seen hooked up are meant for ported vacuum meaning they only have vacuum when the butterflies are cracked open. The amount of vacuum increases as the butterflies are opened.
The only other things I can think of that need manifold vacuum on a basic vacuum system would be the power brake booster, automatic transmission modulator and possibly a vacuum reserve canister for the AC switch.
