Well it's not really oxidation, it's wear. When you say "like headlights" do you mean headlights or plastic like it? What are you trying to repair? Is it clear?
Plastic headlight covers usually can be repaired with Scratch-X unless they are really far gone. Sometimes the problem is on the inside rather than the outside. Do you have a picture? _________________ Leo

Permatex now has a product to polish plastic headlight's, I've heard it works pretty well. If you rub WD-40 on it it will clear up for a week or 2. _________________ 1966 Impala SS 4 Spd. Conv.

I've not used these products myself, but have known others that have. While not getting the exact results that are advertised on the web sites, they got pretty close and it came out very respectable.
how funny, i just did my sons car and thought about posting the method here. but i thought it was old news, i used 600 grit wet sanpaper, sanded the plastic, then used blue magic to polish them. came out awesome. the finer the paper the better.use plenty of water.mine were completely "yellowed."
Mothers Aluminum Polish made my 94' corollas headlights see thru. and very shiney. and made a world of difference..and i spent 5 minutes doing it with a rag.
try it out _________________ Please Visit our web page at www.orlandochevys.com any questions or comments are welcome. thanks
Saw the comment about NeverDull on plastic. Do you think it would help instrument panel lens? It's lightly scratched. . . don't want to use sandpaper on it. I'd probably screw it up. _________________ Ralph

that one not only might be "yellowed".it is also a lot of years old. just did my sons saturn light lenses and came out great with the blue magic and NO sandpaper.give it a try.
