I did an "MP Brakes" kit about 2 years ago on my '64. After weighing out the cost/time of scrounging parts, cleaning them, rebuilding them opposed to have a box of shiny new delivered to my door........
At the most basic you exchange the spindles, make some brake line mods, and a master cyl. swap. An easy weekend project.
My case was infected with the "snowball" effect. All my bushings & joints were shot. So it was a total front end rebuild. This entailed: Ball joints, control arm bushings, cross-shafts, tie rods & centerlink, and while I was there - why not a fast-ratio steering box upgrade. All my original stuff saved was blasted & painted as well. Then a trip to the alignment shop.
I was very happy with the MP Brakes kit. A true bolt-on, and uses GM components. It's not the mondo 13" 'Vette stuff, or the B-body spindles, but I'm not building a "G-machine" or Autocrosser - just a hotrod that I want to stop. _________________ '64 Elky, 383, TH-350, 12 Bolt,
