First car in high school was an 81 El Camino, I spent a good amount of time and money restoring that car which was later t-boned by someone running a light and then stolen from the body shop it was taken to.
I replaced that 81 with an 85, which I later sold to a friend local.
After selling the 85 I got into turbo Regals big time. I've now owned three total. First one was stolen (yes, that's right, the second car of mine that has been stolen). The second I sold when I started college. The third is the current one, I found it about 6 miles away from my house for a really good price on Craigslist.
I did a few small bolt ons to the car and ended up killing the thrust bearing. Since the car isn't that nice I'm in the process of buying back my 85 El Camino. I will be swapping the entire driveline, as well as the interior out of the Regal into the El Camino.
I'm also in between moving right now so I don't have my desktop setup, but here is a current pic of the 85 I'm checking out this week,

Welcome to ECC Ken. I agree with mgs72elky, that is a nice looking El Camino. I hope it checks out as good as it looks. _________________ John (from Down Under)
Kenny, welcome to the best Elky site in the world. Where in Oh do you live? I am in or near Dayton.
Dan
I'm in Columbus.
Checked out the El Camino yesterday. It looks exacatly like it did when I sold it. Picking it up in a couple weeks. Can't wait. _________________ 85 El Camino, 3.8SFI Turbo powered
I guess I should post an update... though not much progress has been made.
I pulled the hard bed cover off (going to sell it, no idea what to ask though since it needs pained?) and the chrome trim around the wheel wells. Going to pull the chrome at the bottom of the doors as well, but how it is installed I will have to have it painted, so that will wait until spring. _________________ 85 El Camino, 3.8SFI Turbo powered
