Have a 79 El Camino with the stock rally wheels and 215/70R14. Also have a 86 El Camino with the 14 X 6 stock rally wheels and 225/70R14.
The stock size tire 205/75R14 has an overall diameter of 26.10 in
The 215/70R14 has an overall diameter of 25.85 in (0.96% difference)
The 225/70R14 has an overall diameter of 26.40 in (1.14% difference) _________________ 79 El Camino

On my 86 the the sticker in the door jam: stock tire size P205/75R14
I'm running P215/70R14 Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTS now. White letters outside. I've gotten a good ride & mileage out of these tires.
Any other idea on a name brand tire that offer a 14" tire that will ride good, look good & give good mileage? _________________ 1986 El Camino "Conquista" 305 V8 4BBL Automatic

I've got the stock ralleys on mine, too. 14x6 in the front and 14x7 in the rear. Rear tires are Cooper Cobras at 245/60. They're awfully close to the frame, but they do fit. They were the widest tire I could find for a 14 without ordering drag radials. _________________ '78 El Camino

I used to run 235/60 R14's on my stock Rally wheels on my 74. Same wheel as a 70's Camaro with Rally wheels. No rub, no problems. Had a nice sidewall pooch too that saves the rims for the occassional curb slap.
Thing is it's getting hard to find 14 and 15 inch tires in a decent size. I've tried to get 235/50 15's for my current wheels to no avail. It's an odd size now. I'm stuck with 235/60's and only found BF Goodrich and Road Hugger's in that size.
