the comment about "uniforms" reminds me of every event where you have a gathering of so-called "individualists". the baggy shorts and big T-shirts and hip-hop and dubs are not much different from a trip to sturgis in early august....you get to see a bunch of "individualists" there too, all dressed exactly the same and sporting the same equipment........what a bunch of sheep. Sad

That was a gathering that happened in the Los Angeles area on Labor Day weekend. I was invited but already had other plans so couldn't go.

kind of a sad state of affairs when 20 elkys makes for a 'huge' gathering Sad

I don't mind mondo rims... I think it comes from a generation of guys growing up with pockets full of Hot Wheels cars, that's what those elkys looks like, but life-size.

thats something too, that seems to have gone the same way. seems to me, hot wheels, matchboxes, and johnny lightning cars used to at least look somewhat like real cars. the new ones you find now days look like cartoon caricatures. i guess everything has gone the way of over-exaggerated monster trucks and low riders. a few here and there is OK, but when it is all you ever see, it gets old......like anything else.

20 Elcos? The El Camino run is an annual event. Try multiplying that by 10 partner.

I'm with El Dawgg, I can only wish we had it that good out here or anywhere else. Big ups to the guys in Cali for organizing and hooking it up the way they do.

Looks like a great gathering of El Camino's & Monte Carlo's.
That is what i was trying to organize last weekend but mine was the only Elky there.
Oh well, maybe next year.

Not a big fan of the large wheels either however i have seen many nice cars with 20s tucked and looking bad azz.

Yeah, nothing a better owner couldn't fix.

Hey guys, don't forget to support the two 50th Anniversary Celebrations planned for next year. East Coast and West Coast. It's our time to gather and show the car enthusist hobby we are organized. Too many times have we gone to shows only to be left out because of our uniqueness. This time it is us who will have the spotlight.

The old saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder certainly applies here. Whether it is cars, women, booze, art, music or whatever, it is what makes you feel happy and appreciated. There are several El Caminos that certainly would not be the way I want my ride to look like ,but it`s not my car, my decision or me they have to please. Some ,I think are pretty cool. I would love to have that many El Co`s and Montes around here and would be proud if they asked me to roll with them. Viva la difference !
