Been having a discussion at work about Seafoam, one guy says its really good for getting carbon out of an engine. Does it really work or just a ripoff?
In my opinion, Sea Foam, and Deep Creep, the aerosol version, are probably among the best on the market. At about nine bucks a pint it is pricy, but you get what you pay for. _________________ 86 El Camino SS Z15 / Posi / 305-V8-4bbl

I have sprayed it through the carb venturi, and through the pcv hose on car engines. On marine engines, spray through the enrichment valve (red knob) to winterize, or again through the carbs, saving about a quarter can to spray in each cylinder after removing the spark plug. Then let it sit overnight, blow out, place a little two stroke oil in each cylinder for lubrication, replace the plugs and run.
Hope this helps. _________________ 86 El Camino SS Z15 / Posi / 305-V8-4bbl

I'm the type of owner who does not believe in engine fixes/cures from a bottle. That said, my '79 with the original pos 305 smogmotor is carboned up from leaky valve guide seals and age. It runs and deisels on after shut off.
After reading positive feedback on Sea Foam, I've begun using it to see if it helps. Guess what? It's working. After running two cans through gradually (pour a little through the carb every week), I can hear and feel a difference. I'm pleasantly surprised, and therefore am recommending you give it a try...
it works. We've used it for customers that barely failed smogs, after a full tank of gas and sea foam have been sucked through emissions have DROPPED significantly in most cases. Deep creep is awesome as well as a lubricant and penatrant. SEA FOAM WORKS USE IT! _________________

need to know ,how to pour into the intake. i used in the gas already works
Remove a intake manifold vacuum line with the engine running and LIGHTLY suck up the sea foam with the vacuum line you want it to suck it up so its a light mist going into the engine. Just a slight little slurping sound. Too much at a time can kill the engine so you have to start it up. And white smoke will come out of the exhaust too. Once you've sucked up about half the can let it continuing idling no reving the engine, let it idle. Once the smoke is gone your done! Reconnect the vacuum line.

thx bud, but this line you talk about will be next to the intake manifold ?
where at in the front or side of the intake? _________________ ''EAST-LB-MINO''
any vacuum line will do---the smaller the better though---like Snag says take it kinda slow and easy----I've even taken off the air cleaner and poured it into the carb while holding the engine at a good fast idle---maybe 1500 rpm just be sure to run it through both sides of the carb so all cylinders will get the benefit....I am also one of those that doesn't normally believe is extraneous chemicals in my engines but Sea Foam has made a believer out of me many times over _________________ I don't think I have ever had a car that was "FINISHED"........unless it was totaled.

I just used SEAFOAM on my 86'.
I pour it directly through the carb while the motor was running (1 pint, roughly 2tablespoons at a time, any more and I could tell the engine would die), after pouring a pint through the intake, I poured a pint directly into my gas tank, then shut my car off. I then poured a pint into my crank case and lt sit for roughly 5 minutes.
Started my car, a BEAUTIFULL WHITE PLOOM of smoke flooded my parking area, lol. I let the car run for roughly 5 minutes, at that time the car was completely finished with its white farts...
I will have to say, no more dieseling, SOUNDS better (i think, in my bias ears, lol). A bit more crisp i'd say.
WOWZERS I got to get my hands on this stuff, does autozone carry it? i'll find out. I know how to put it in the carb but im a lilttle scetchy about the vaccume hose's and puting it in my tank. could some one be so kind to post a pic of the hose's you put it in. _________________

AZone has it. So does Advance and others. Just review some of the tips above from the gurus and follow the instructions. You'll have no prob. Worse case I've encountered took two cans. Still a bargain.
There are misc forums around that claim they have figured it out and make their own concoction. That's fine, just let them do it to their own car. Some folks will spend $30 to save $5.
Take care. _________________ 84 Elky GTA
