Aloha all,

Can anyone tell me the total number of bulbs that are in the dash as I want to change all of them to LED.....mainly the bulbs that cast light onto the gauges, not the "check motor", etc.

Because I have to order them, I don't want to take the dash out and wait a few weeks to get the replacement LED's in.

Thanks to all that reply. Cool

Hi King, mine has 8 in the dash part and 5 in the check engine section. It is an 86 but I think they are all the same in the 5th gen.

Roger that,

Are they all "194" series wedge bulbs? I will be ordering replacement LEDs for the gages only, the check engine section I will leave as regular bulbs.

Thanks again.

Been super busy at work lately, haven't had the time to try to pull the dash/cluster out yet. Looks pretty straight forward, 4 or 6 screws. Will let you know. Cool

I have a cluster here in front of me and I count 8 that illuminate it. There are 2 for the left and right turn signals.

Decided not to change to the LED's due to cost and shipping. Just went ahead and put in the white gauges (vinyl) and it came out really good using the original bulbs. It case kind of a bluish green tint.

Will post pics later.

Looking forward to seeing how your gauges came out. Where did you find the vinyl gauge covers?

I unfortunately Will have to replace the bulbs ... and I hate tearing apart the dash!

Just take your time removing the dash/instruments and it goes back together really quickly. I bought the decals from www.durangedesign.com. follow the directions that come with the decals to the letter and it will come out perfect. I know this because I decided to read the instructions AFTER I installed the first one and then figured out that reading then doing is better! Happy
