It's too bad that you're having a hard time finding that half of the AC box. I just threw mine out not too long ago and it was still in good shape. _________________ 1975 El Camino http://elcaminocentral.com/gallery-album_album358.html

Oh well, you're not going to be needing an AC box when it's cold anyway. Just move on and start looking for one again next year. _________________ 1975 El Camino http://elcaminocentral.com/gallery-album_album358.html
The part number on mine is 3024641 with some offset digits at the end that look like a sideways, narrow "3" (which might be some other symbol), a slanted "1" and a normal-looking "4". I hate it when GM adds those "might be part of the number" things at the end.
An A/C guy told me that his books showed the part for '77 as being a 1-year only part, but I doubt that. Unfortunately, the part number is on the inside below where the fan mounts.
I'd certainly be willing to buy one from you if you are willing to take the time to remove it and check the numbers.
The small hole at the top of the flat part is not there on mine and the riveted-on bracket is different.
I really appreciate you going to the trouble of pulling this off for me to see, but let me think through what I'd need to do to this one vs. trying to repair mine with fiberglass. I will let you know what I decide to do.
It seems that '77 had some unique parts (door strikers, for example).
Odd that they would change things like this in the last year of a bodystyle.
Can you send me a pic of yours, I'd have to see it to compare. The picture I sent earlier is a 76, it looks the same as this last one I posted. You can see what the bracket and hole are for in the earlier pic.
I'm surprised yours is that much different. _________________ 74 El Camino 454/400turbo work in progress!
