Well I got an old 84 that I once in a while toy with, engine only has 78K on it but it had been sitting a loooong time, so being the dumb young guys I am , instead of goin for the complete restore process I instead threw an edlebrock top end kit on her and hit the road. Since then ive had nothing but problems with it, again because im a moron, everything from brakes to cooling. My latest problem is that the engine overheates and starts smoking at idle YEY!!!!, i believe its the thermostat but i have almost given up on the engine for now, i want to move into something else like interior and exterior, then save the engine for last when i have the cash to do what i want , anybody got any good start points from when they restored there cmino?

Buy you a couple of boxes of different size zip lock freezer bags and a sharpie to write on them and start taking it apart and group things into the bags that go together (like the interior screws, left front fender hardware and etc.) and have fun.

engine engine engine! i'd rather not look so good and smoke people then look good and not have a relieable elky. i just got a 68 and all it needed to run good was a new ditributor a tune up and now it runs like a champ its ALL original 327 powerglide except the interior its new with bucket seats. if you dont care to drive it then by all means make her look perrty. it always feels great to drive a old car with a fresh interior.

uhm... make it RELIABLE! Fix your cooling issue replace your t-stat, and make it run GOOD. Then do what you want to do with the car. I went from reliability to interior...

And went for a little bling...it was an older picture before i got rid of the blue and green hiding...DONT ASK ABOUT THE GREEN!

kinda like this....
