Hi all. Got a Bowtie Overdrives built 700R4 transmission with a fairly decent 454 in front of it. I beat the hell out of this tranny. Suspect it has about 4000 miles on it since orig purchased by the PO.
Coming home from a cruise the other night, it started slipping in 4th, then about 5 miles later even slipped some in 3rd.
I want to go through the tranny myself this Winter for the experience/learning. My question is which 700R4 specific tech manuals are the most complete (read idiot proof), illustrated and helpful?
Also, any good on-line 700-R4 specialty resources or groups/forums in case I get stuck?

I'm in the same boat except my BTO 700r only slips under full throttle in 3rd so I'm still driving mine. I did go ahead a get a manual off ebay, it's by ATSG(automatic transmission group). It's pretty straight forward and I think it's just the thing. I still have reservations about staying with the 700 and may end up just going back to a standard 3 speed automatic(400th). _________________ Ol Paint and me
