Hello again fellow camino lovers, I have yet another dullima on my hands.
I got my 79 elcamino from my dad which he has handed down to me to own and cherish, he had forgotten to tell me of all the little things going loopy on it, and now i have it and driving it, i have found them all, so here is my question for anyone that will help! my wipers didn't work so i took the switch out and put a new one in, well now it still didn't work so i looked at the motor and heard it click when i moved the switch. OK now i gently tugged on the wiper arms and the darn things started moving. Yah but here it comes, the switch is still off. get that guys the wipers now work but with the switch in the off postion, i can however move the switch to low and fast and they work fine and it pumps fluid fine, why in gods name does it stay on with the switch off. keep in mind i have a new switch already.. Help please. thanks

Sounds like the windshield wiper parking switch has failed.

Sounds like you should find another motor assy, maybe in a junk yard.
