I really want to put A/C back into my 1985 El Camino SS showcar. The factory compressors are so ugly, and the chrome trim rings for them don't do much to dress them up! I want to put a new polished or chrome Sanden compressor into my ride, but i need it to mount on the driver side. I already have polished March brackets for the Alt. and power steering in the stock locations. I need a polished bracket for the new style compressor for the driver side. (I can only find for passenger side, and I don't want to relocate altenator) I would also like to run Stainless steel braided A/C lines for the compressor/condensor/evaporator as well. any Ideas...? Check out the pictures (link in my signature) you will understand why I need a nice looking setup! Thanks!! _________________ Outta Control High Performance Customs

Major props to you and your Elky Matt. I'm very impressed with it. Check out MotorChrome.com for that A/C bracket. I didn't see it on their web site, but maybe a call to them wouldn't hurt. _________________ JW - NECOA #768 2011 El Camino SS - http://elcaminocentral.com/users/a73elkyss/.
Watch for the 6th gen Elco's
Thank you for the props on my camino, I have had many busted knuckles, and empty wallets while building that car. Thanks for the help, I will check out that website. -Matt _________________ Outta Control High Performance Customs

I was at the Arlington (Texas) swap meet this weekend and talked to a company that has the newer small compressors for our cars.
They quoted me $225 for a new compressor, bracket and hoses that attach to the new compressor. Their ad show you can get a chrome compressor for an additional $60
thank you! i will look into it. i wish they had a website or pictures. Thanks -matt _________________ Outta Control High Performance Customs

Have thought about moving comp. to the right side since the evap. is on the right side it could be set up like a Corvette w/ the lines running from the compressor forward to the condensor & back to the evap. w/o lines across the engine. A very clean setup. Have a Sanden type setup on the Corvette.
i know that option would work, but i just paid $50 for billet brackets for the alt. which is on the passenger side. I don't want to change the pulleys brackets and the wiring if i don't have to. I would rather not buy another polished bracket for the alternator if I can make it work with compressor on the driver side. thanks -Matt _________________ Outta Control High Performance Customs
