I'm a new member, I joined a few months ago. How do you remove the Heater box? I have a 1983 El Camino Conquista. This is what I have done so far, I removed the cover, blower motor and all the hoses and connections inside the engine bay. Basically I have the thing hanging but it still won't come out. I still want to put one in so I don't want to ruin anything, i just need a new box.

Thanks
Josh

That's pretty much where I am now. I need to go to the next step and remove the whole lower box.

Thanks
Josh

Josh, there's a few really knowledgeable guys on this forum. I am not one of them, so cannot help you. Some of the guys travel a lot and might not be able to check in frequently. Give them time to check in and see if they can help you. If you do not get any help right away, post again in a few days.

Josh, If I m following you correctly, Make sure ALL the screws that secure the box to the firewall are OUT. Those on the bottom are hard to see and get to. Use a mirror and light to verify they are all out. In my 86 after I removed all the fasteners, I had to manipulate it just right to come out of the hole it is in by the exhaust manifold.
