Ok, read past post on how to fix the problem with the low air flow from the vents and it coming from the floor and dash vents.....Well today I was looking around checking the lines to ensure they were not bent or cracked and I saw it......I took off the glove box, looked inside and noticed that when I moved the lever from cool to hot it moves a "Heater & temperature control cable".....there is a metal rod that comes from the fire wall that it is suppose to push, which pushes a door.......there is a pivot point that the cable and rod attach to...a piece of plastic like a triangle......where that is suppose to sit was broken.....so when I put it to cool the low air flow....when I pushed the rod, it when in farther and the air came out harder....even on the drivers side vent.......so now I just need that plastic piece ....
The plastic piece sits on a stub and this is where the piece is cracked so it can not pivit.....
I guess if I dont find the piece I can or will have to remember to move it in the summer time........
If anyone knows what piece I am talking about and where to get it I would appreciate it..... _________________ 1987 El Camino

The part you probably need is the heater control valve lever. OPGI #99L0032. Look online opgi.com page 40 in the catalog. Hope this helps. Pops _________________ 86 El Camino SS Z15 / Posi / 305-V8-4bbl

I had the same problem several years ago, so I firmly believe this part will solve your problem. Instead of buying the bellcrank I actually repaired mine. Have had no other problems with it. Let us know! _________________ 86 El Camino SS Z15 / Posi / 305-V8-4bbl

If you are missing parts there porbably is no fixing it. It is a bummer having to wait two weeks. Think how nice when you get it fixed though. _________________ 86 El Camino SS Z15 / Posi / 305-V8-4bbl

The main thing is you got your elc fixed. There has been several posts lately of great dissatisfaction with opgi service. Another vender is The El Camino Store, I have not ordered anything from them, but they seem to have a decent catalog. Might try them next time. _________________ 86 El Camino SS Z15 / Posi / 305-V8-4bbl
