My Elky will be done in about a month but I haven't figured out the wheel sizes yet. My wheel/rim set before was 15x7 Cragars all around with about 2" bs, and that gave it a deep-dish effect. Front tires were 235-60 P15's the rears were 245-60p15's.
I want to go with an American Torquethrust II, and because I like the deep-dish look, I'm not sure how to order (I'd heard that my previous setup was tough on the bearings, etc). Further, I will get a set of 265's for the rear if they fit. I'm wondering if my 245's will fit on the front? (will sell the 235's as the whole set only has 800 miles on them)
I sure could use some suggestions. The Cragars have been sold so I need to get my rolling stock ordered pretty fast. If there's any info you need additionally please let me know.
Thanks, guys, for any help. _________________ El Camvette '71 --
Most of the things I have read about wheels all agree that, as much as possible, you should try to have the mount point centered in the rim. Which would indicate that the "Deep Dish" type look and mount is not necessarily good for the truck.
However, most of the Front wheel drive cars are all back spacing and rarely centered, including rear wheel drive Corvettes. So it could be an "old school" philosophy.
Thanks, ElkyPete, I would have to agree with you. Know what you mean about 'all backspacing', maybe it is o.k. to have the weight "inboard" in that case. _________________ El Camvette '71 --
