Have any of you had new hoses made to re-route your A/C hoses so they wouldn't have to cross over the engine. If so how did you route them. Am thinking of a way to re-route them for a cleaner look.

I agree it would clean things up but consider that I just paid $195 to have the OE hose replaced and $60 per pound for the freon. I would hate to screw it up and start all over not to mention the problems associated with re-routing things.

On the other hand I did see one where the owner used two aero-seal clamps at either end of the hose that crosses over the engine. I suppose it could have been routed elsewhere using the clamps and a longer hose. The hose looked very similar to heater hose:? I suppose it didn't matter, the A/C didn't work anyhow.

I just keep the OE hose[s] clean and treated with something to keep them sparkling.

It's not a problem.

I had the one that runs acroos the engine rerouted between the fender and fenderwell.

Here's some pics of all the changes on mine. The pictures of the hose routing are blurry so i'll take some better ones and post them later.

I am looking for a set of hoses for my '86. I took them off because the fittings rusted and planning on picking a south western duty station, so I would love to put them back on and get my A/C back up a running. Anyone have a location for buying those hoses? Thanks.
