After several 50 mile trips, during high demand cycles the engine cuts out for several seconds then comes back to life, running normal until the next high demand. When the engine comes back their is no backfire so my direction has been to the fuel system. I have replaced the carburator fuel filter and several fuel lines at the EFI canister. Checked the vacuum lines and electrical connections. I feel that I have a restriction in fuel flow either fuel pickup or fuel line and want to blow it out back to the tank from the pump. Other than removing filler cap do I need to disconnect any thing else? Any other ideas? Rolling Eyes

I had a similar problem with my 79 Elky. It turned out to be a cracked gas hose coming off the gas tank sending unit. The original hose was so cracked I'm surprised it still held together. Sometimes the fuel pump couldn't draw the gas from the tank and other times it could. Finally one day it wouldn't even start. I pulled the fuel line off the carb and cranked the engine but no fuel came out. Look under your Elky and inspect all of the lines between the gas tank and the fuel pump.

Don't discount the possibility that it could be ignition also. Very Happy
