While there are no dues or fees for membership at El Camino
Central, we do rely upon member contributions to keep the site and server running smoothly. As membership grows, so does
site usage. Recently we have seen a huge jump in server load and bandwidth. As a result, at times we notice extremely
slow page loading. Many of you may have also noticed the new member rankings used to recognize supporting members.

This site is the greatest! If I go a day without logging on I begin to get mean and nasty. I think I'm addicted.
Should we start a twelve stop program?
Quote:
I admitted I was powerless over El Camino Central — that my online life had become unmanageable.
I came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity.
I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God as I understood Him.
I made a searching and fearless moral inventory of myself.
I admitted to God, to myself, and to other human beings the exact nature of my wrongs.
I am entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
I humbly asked him to remove my shortcomings.
I made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
I made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
I continue to take personal inventory and when I am wrong promptly admitt it.
I sought through prayer and meditation to improve my conscious contact with God, as I understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for me and the power to carry that out.
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, I tried to carry this message to others with the same problem, and to practice these principles in all my affairs.
Wait, wait! This is a GOOD THING! _________________ Regards,

Don't know a Bill W. but I do know a Bill M. and Bill J. Bill J. had an 80ish Elky but I haven't seen him in many years. Is Bill W. in the IT world or just someone I might run into at the asylum?
Sometime, when collecting my wits (I know what you guys are thinking) at work, I slip over to my other computer and read a couple of posts and maybe make one myself. The site stays up all day and then all evening when I get home. I find it entertaining and enlightening. Then I can go back to doing whatever with a fresh perspective. _________________ Regards,

Perhaps some other may be able to answer this more correctly, as I have some knowledge about this, but not alot.
Bill W. is one (or the ) founding member of the Alcoholics Anonymous support program.
I have attended about 4 or 5 meetings in the last couple years, sometimes in support of others that need a friend to go with them, and other times as I felt the need to go.
But you are correct, ECC can become an addiction.
know that as your elcamino gets more stable, your addiction will subside. When I first started working on her, i was on here every few hours for one thing or another.
Now that the majority of the gremlins are out of the system, I tend to logon once every couple days unless I'm waiting for responses to some of my own questions.
I find that reading others questions spawns new ideas or thoughts regarding.my own problems, or things like "Oh thats what that noise I haven't identified yet might be"
But I second your main point here in that this site is awesome. Great job Robert maintainting and keeping it growing. Its hard to believe its only been 7 months since I've been on here. _________________ San Jose, CA

I feel better and I'm doing better, too. I went all afternoon with logging in and I did some work on the Elky and my cousins fossil fuel golf cart. Of course, I'll have to post the results of working on the Elky in the Ignitions forum.
I wonder is there is a golf cart site "out there" somewhere? _________________ Regards,
