Guys;

My son has a 94 Olds 88 3.8 V6 with one or more fouled injectors. Will injectors from 95 LT1 work as a short term fix? I've got a spare set. I'm just trying to save him some money. Thx

injectors are rated by the number of pounds of fuel per hour they can deliver and the computer is set for a specific rate so while the injectors may physically fit they will run the cylinder either lean or rich depending on how for they sized. lean can cause detonation damage in that cylinder and rich can wash out the rings---you need to make sure both cars use the same rating before you do it------An easier choice might be to go to the parts house and get a product called Seafoam---its primarily a carbon remover but it also has fuel injector lubricant in it---if the injector is stuck and not burned out --it may do the trick for something like 6-7 dollars..................Dan

I ended up sending the spare set as cores up to Linder Tech Injector service in Indianapolis...since I only needed 6 for Olds and I sent 8 they upgraded to the better Bosch injectors at no charge...nice folks to deal and great turnaround as well.
