I GOT DOWN AS FAR AS THE THE HEATER/AC CONTROL TODAY IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES MY FIRST TIME IN MY 1970 WITH THE HELP OF THE SHOP MANUAL. MY GUESS IS IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT AN HOUR TO GET IT OUT IN 1970
cant be much different from my 66. disconnect the bolts holding the steering column up. drop it down as far as it will go. this is easier with steering wheel off. remove golve box liner for access. There are support rods from dash to firewall. they gotta go. srews underneath dash trim (on outside) that will have to go. Get all that out, and that puppy is ready to drop down. if it is coming completly out of the car, a helper is the way to go. let me know how you make out. typing this all from memory, and may have left something out.
