I just recently got my A/C going but i need a vacuum ball. I would like to know where to get one, the original one. I read a previous post and the guy ended up with 2 of the wrong ones. None of the local junk yards have any G-Body's so where else can i look. also id like to see a picture of someones to see how to hook it all up. thanks in advance for any input.

What does the vacuum reserve ball have to do with the A/C? I don't have one and my A/C works fine... at least I think it does Confused

If you still need it you can get this.

I may be wrong but i think the vacuum lines from the ac connect to the ball. The lines control the moving of the flaps inside to direct air out of the floor or thru the vents. right now i only have 1 line hooked up and it blows cold air from the floor and the vents in the dash. the other line isn't long enough to reach the carb and the place where the ball mounts seems about ideal for the a/c. am i right, if not someone let me know how it all hooks up.

I picked up a replacement one from GM Sports Salvage in San Jose California.

They have about 15-18 5th gens there. I believe the vacuum balls are pretty universal.

My understanding is that it assists with the flap movements controled by the a/c head unit.

It is called a vacuum accumulator I believe if you are calling around for it.
